Tiles

Four rules about resource tiles, the one skill requirement behind them, and the 10M fine when one is broken.

updated 2026-09-08

A tile is somebody standing still for a long time with a crew that is not defending anything. That is why tiles have their own rules in every city worth living in: they are the one place where taking two seconds to be clever costs a neighbour an hour. Four rules, one skill requirement, and one price.

The four rules
  • Never hit a tile.
  • Never race someone to one.
  • Never leave one unfinished — take it in one go.
  • Diamond 5 only with the QR skill.
01

Never hit a tile

Not a neighbour's, not a stranger's, not one belonging to a faction you dislike. A crew gathering is not a fight anybody offered you; it is the slowest, most defenceless thing on the map, and hitting one is the single fastest way to start a city war out of nothing.

If a tag genuinely needs to be answered, that is an R4 decision and it happens somewhere other than on a gathering crew.

02

Never race someone to a tile

If a crew is already on the way, the tile is theirs. Sending yours to land a second earlier wins you one tile and costs the other player a full march out and back — a trade the city loses on every time it happens.

The map has more tiles than the city has crews. There is always another one.

03

Finish what you start, in one go

Do not take half a tile and pull out. A half-gathered tile stays on the map as a worse version of itself: the next player to arrive spends a full march for a fraction of the yield, and usually leaves it too.

Before you send, check that you have the time and the crew capacity to empty it. If you do not, pick a smaller one.

04

Diamond level 5 only with QR

QR is the quick robbery babe skill, from Camila. Without it, a level 5 diamond tile keeps your crew parked for so long that you are not gathering any more — you are occupying the best tile in the neighbourhood and blocking everyone else from it.

So the rule is a simple gate: if you have QR, level 5 diamonds are open to you. If you do not, work the lower levels until you do. This is the one tile rule that is about a skill rather than about manners, and it is enforced exactly like the other three.

05

One price for all four: 10M diamonds

Breaking any of the rules above costs 10M diamonds. There is one price rather than four because from the faction's side the damage is the same each time — a neighbour with a reason to complain about us.

Only an R4 charges it, and only the R4 of the faction the offender belongs to. If you see a breach, send it to your R4 with a screenshot and stop there — the reasons are in chapter one. The full list of what this faction charges is in Fines and penalties.
