The arsenals

Eight arsenals, eight rounds, and the one confusion that has already cost us a reading: the Roman numeral is a place, not a round.

updated 2026-09-08

The arsenals are what an MD is for. There are eight of them, they sit in fixed places on the map, and they are taken by holding them — which is why an arsenal night is the one night the whole faction has to be in the same place at the same time.

The short version
  • Eight arsenals, named I to VIII.
  • The numeral is a place on the map, not a round number.
  • Eight rounds across the season, one per MD except the last event.
  • An arsenal is won by holding it, not by hitting it once.
01

The numeral is a place, not a round

Upstate Arsenal VIII is a location. It does not mean the eighth round, it does not mean the eighth night, and it can be fought in any round of the season. The two numbers look alike and mean nothing alike.

02

Eight rounds, one per MD, except the last

Every event ends in an MD, and every MD carries an arsenal round — except the ninth and final event, which has none. Nine events, eight rounds of arsenal fighting across the season.

03

An arsenal is held, not hit

You do not win an arsenal by landing a raid on it. It is taken by occupying it, and sixty minutes of holding wins it. That single fact explains most of how we fight on an MD: the point is not the biggest hit, it is being the side still standing on it when the hour is up, which takes people arriving in order rather than everybody at once.

What to send, when to send it and who calls it is in the combat section. What this page asks is only that you are there.

04

One arsenal can hold several raids

Sixty minutes is long enough for more than one raid to be opened, filled, won or lost on the same building. So "the Arsenal VIII fight" is usually several raids, not one — and when a report is read afterwards, each raid is counted on its own.

Why the arsenals matter

Eight nights in six weeks decide the season. The other days set them up.
