Set your account up

The five things to configure before anyone attacks you — because after they do, there is no time to configure anything.

updated 2026-09-07

Everything on this page takes one evening and costs nothing. Everyone who has ever lost a mansion in this game lost it while planning to do these five things later.

The short version
  • A crew Underboss on the wall. Always.
  • ATK and HP beat DEF. Traps beat almost nothing.
  • Build a meatshield of cheap troops before you need it.
  • Hospital empty, anti-recon on, gear on.

The wall

01

Put a grand crew enforcer on the wall

This is the single most common mistake of a new member: an empty Underboss slot, or one filled with an enforcer that only buffs a single troop type. A crew enforcer buffs everything you have, which is what a wall needs — you do not get to choose what attacks you.

Three of them are free and any of the three will do: Anonymous, Bubba and Hellcat. Paid grand crew enforcers exist and work too; nobody here needs one to be useful.

02

Attack and health beat defense

It reads backwards and it is true: on a wall, ATK and HP buffs do more than DEF buffs, and crew buffs do more than single-troop ones. Traps and wall-defense bonuses come last — put your best enforcers in, not your most defensive ones.

If you know what is coming at you, the wall can be re-arranged for it. Most of the time you will not know, which is the whole argument for crew enforcers.

The troops behind it

03

Build a meatshield before you need one

A meatshield is a mass of cheap low-tier troops kept in the mansion so that the expensive ones are not what dies first. They are quick to train, cheap to heal, and they are the reason a raid on you costs the attacker more than it costs you.

Match the tier to what is coming. This is a pairing, not a pile. A mass of T2 is what holds a T4 attack; a mass of T3 is what holds a T5 attack. The cheap troops die in front so the expensive ones behind them do not — and a defence is won by whoever loses less, not by whoever kills more.

The numbers: 10M of T2, and about 5M of T3. Set on 14 September 2026. They replace the old Combat Handbook figures that stood on this page — 1.5M as a floor and 4M as comfortable, starting at 350k of each T4 and 500k of each T3 — which no longer hold.

And it is one of three. Buffs, the right formation, and the meatshield. A mansion holds when all three are there; two of them do not stop a strong attack.

04

Keep the hospital empty

A full hospital means wounded troops have nowhere to go, and troops with nowhere to go die instead. Heal before you log off, and heal again before anything big — an empty hospital is half of your defense and it is free.

Before you leave the mansion

05

Anti-recon on, gear on, specialties set

Four switches, checked once at the start of every session: anti-recon active so nobody scouts what you have, a crew Underboss set, combat gear on, and your combat specialties chosen. Then stay near the rest of the team — a member alone on the map is a member somebody picks.

If you remember one thing

Nothing here can be done while you are being attacked.
